Re: AS - Option to save images to project media folder
Many thanks for your time Nick. You're correct that I don't use sub-folders in my Media folder. I don't quite know why, probably because years ago, when I first began using AS, I just stuck with the default settings. All my media files are also stored on my hard drive & those are set up in sub-f...

Re: AS - Option to save images to project media folder
Further to this issue, whilst it seemed that Mike's reply resolved my problem, once I ticked the box to Remember my response for this project & not ask again, the problem resumed ie, images are no longer saved to the media folder. Does anyone else see this?

AS - Option to save images to project media folder
I've just realised that, since the beginning of the month, when saving images in AS after completing an entry I'm no longer getting the option to have the file saved to the project media folder. So when checking in FH, rather than the linked file path being, for example - Media\BROOKSusannah_b1838_1...

Re: 1841 census showing children who were dead
Mike, absolutely. My point was simply that I don't think we should assume that.

Re: 1841 census showing children who were dead
However, unlike 1911, in 1841 the people did not enter their own census details but they were compiled by an enumerator. I'd always understood that household schedules were issued in every Census, but that up until 1911 they were routinely destroyed after details had been copied into the enumerator...

Sorry to post to an old thread, but I'm unable to find these Templates anywhere. Can anyone help by pointing me in the direction please?

Re: Sorting by dates of facts not always working
Sorry to jump on this thread but I'm interested in these two facts. I presume they're ones you created yourself, since I can't find them listed. If so, is there a way to include a function which calculates the number of ancestors or descendants at all or do you add them up & insert the number ma...

Re: Keywords
Yes, I remember ColinMc so perhaps that's why adding images directly into FH is now working. Have you found a difference between drag/dropping images & adding via AS?

Keywords
Following discussion in the General Forum, Mike Tate suggested I post this problem here. I have Preferences in FH set to "Copy Image Tag Values to the Media Record" which should merge any existing keywords with auto-generated keywords. However, although this works when adding images direct...

Re: Keywords
Mike, I'll certainly post in the Ancestral Sources forum as you suggest. Adding earlier images to FH again, results in the keywords now appearing as for "new" images. Anything is possible of course, & I first read this thread on 18th March. I do recall checking the Tools > Preferences ...

Re: Keywords
Thanks for your input Mike. I've just tried this & as before, the image added directly into FH carries the keywords & picture note across, whereas the same image added via AS does not. However, what I find puzzling is that over time I've added many images directly into FH & none of them ...

Re: Keywords
No ColinMc, I'm still on v6.2.7. However, I've discovered today that this seems only to work when NOT adding an image via AS. Adding media via drag & drop produces the desired result. I realised by chance after entering a baptism via AS & saw that the keywords didn't show (as we commented be...

Re: New Ancestry longest segment
Apparently this is a known bug that has been reported to Ancestry many times, & which they are allegedly working on. It happens when you view a match from the shared matches list. There are some workarounds to getting the correct value - 1 From the shared match list you can click on a match and ...

Re: Section of family tree gone missing
Mike, I have used the Revert to Snapshot as you suggested & all appears to be back to normal :D It seems that only the sources added on 3 January 2020 have been permanently lost as the Snapshot for 3 Jan appears to be identical to the one for 2 Jan. However, "We can rebuild them!!" - t...

Re: Section of family tree gone missing
Thanks Lorna & Mike. I'm unclear Lorna whether, when you quote Nick Walker If the source entry type is changed while the file is loading he's referring to the file loading in AS, or reloading in FH AFTER making the AS entry. I am using AS version 5.2, so not a very old one. HOWEVER, I had just f...

Re: Section of family tree gone missing
Mike, thank you for your reply. Just a brief response but I will be fully available after tomorrow morning at which point I will try whatever solution you feel is best. To clarify,in Sources, not all of my records have disappeared, but in the Records Window, under the Media Tab there are 249 Records...
