Thank you Mike, that seems to have done the trick.
The bit about changing the position of the citation pane was a bit tongue in cheek. But during my previous life fixing motor vehicles it was surprising how doing one thing could make something else throw a wobbly...

Findmypast hints - 500 Error message
Has anyone else found that trying to access a Findmypast hint brings up a 500 error message? It's been doing it for a couple of days now. I have a Fmp account and can access the site normally through that. The only change I've made is to move the citation list pane to the bottom of the property box....

Ah-ha! Well done Mike, that's pummelled it into submission. Thank you for taking the time and trouble to sort it out.

Re: Problem with Show Project Statistics
In Ease of Access > Display, the text size slider was set to small, and 1366 x 768 is the largest display size it will allow. I've had a trawl through the Display options but there's not a lot I can alter. I wonder if it's because this is a fairly ancient laptop (in computing terms) being about six ...

Re: Problem with Show Project Statistics
My display resolution is the same as yours. I've tried others but everything goes a tad fuzzy if I change, and I only have two choices for text size; 100% or 125%.
I guess it's just one of those things.

Re: Problem with Show Project Statistics
Hello Mike, My display is at 100% but resizing it doesn't make any difference. I can only resize the window widthwise, if I try to alter the height nothing happens. I'm running Windows 10 with the latest update. My laptop only has a 15.6 inch screen so I'll try attaching to my 40" tv. I might g...

Problem with Show Project Statistics
Getting the Show Project Statistics plugin seemed like a good idea, so downloaded and ran, but not a lot happened, in fact nothing. I don't know how long it should take to come up with any results, but I don't have a phenomenal number of folks in my tree (5006), or families (1567), so after staring ...

Two entries in citations...
I'm not sure what's happening here, but after I've saved Gladys's baptism, there are two 'Text from Source' entries in the Citation pane, but only one appears in the Text from Source pane. I've tried removing all links to her baptism, including from the Facts tab in the Property Box, and Media, and ...

Open the Facts tab in the Property Box. Click on the media symbol (the two overlapping blue boxes) of the fact you want to add media to, then click on the box at top right 'Add Media for Fact'.

Re: Entering un-related people in census?
If they are shown in the census as being related in some way, even if I haven't yet come across the family, then I enter them all, it gives me another line to look at. But if they are shown as a servant, then just that person and I make a note about the head of the household in the Notes section. Th...

Re: Cemetery Abstracts - what are they..?
I’ve read the discussions with some interest, and after a bit of thought would amend my original post to “...for his own interest…”, although family members do profess interest in any little nuggets I’ve found about long-gone relatives (including a murderer!). I looked at getting ESM’s book, but tha...

Thank you very much for answering the question. Although I do have several cemetery indexes, I rather suspected that Abstracts were something I didn't really need.

Cemetery Abstracts - what are they..?
Hi All, Looking at the list of Source Templates, there are two varieties of Cemetery Abstracts. Google hasn't been of any real help in explaining what they are, so my question is, can anyone explain what they are in words of one syllable, and, as someone who is just researching his family tree for h...

Random other people in citations
As in the attached screenshots, other people appear randomly in entries originally created in v6, and, so far, I've no idea why. Has this happened to anyone else?

Re: Copy & paste as (unwanted) table...
paultt: when I copied and pasted from wherever, it would paste into v6 as plain text. From the GRO, CWGC website, whatever. Although in the GRO index a couple of words are in italics, they still paste as plain text as in this random example I've just copied: DAVIS, JOHN 1935 GRO Reference: DOR Q1/19...

Re: Copy & paste as (unwanted) table...
Lorna: thanks for the reply. It's unformatted text. The example for William Davis above is copied (Ctrl+C) straight from the GRO online index and pasted using Ctrl+V into FHUG, then into FHv7, and that's how they come out.

Copy & paste as (unwanted) table...
When I used to copy some text or a GRO reference such as: DAVIS, FREDERICK WILLIAM ROWLEY GRO Reference: 1893 J Quarter in STOKE DAMEREL Volume 05B Page 342 in v6 it would be just be plain text as it is here. However, now it pastes as if it's a table (see image). Is there any way of getting back the...

Re: Find my Past... or Ancestry ?
Even later to the party... I only have a sub to Fmp where unfortunately you can't enter a person's place of birth when searching censuses, but you can in Ancestry. If someone isn't immediately obvious in Fmp, I do a quick pob search on Ancestry which has proved quite useful in showing me where the p...
