Thanks to you all. I will take the suggestions on board and see hoe I go.

Occupation icons in Diagrams
I use icons in Diagrams to show all sorts of things - Immigration, BMD's, Occupations, etc. Looking over one family of Miners/Colliers in the Yorkshire mines, I noticed that there was no icon for one who had been a Collier . The Expression I have always used to generate the required icon is:- =IsTru...

Re: UK Marriages post 2000
You should thank your lucky stars that you are not tracing family in New South Wales. On-line BMD availability is as follows (as are physical copies) No Birth indices after 1922 -100 years No Death indices after 1992 - 30 years No Marriage Indices after 1972 - 50 years These are all, apparently, bas...

Re: Funding review for Australian TROVE website!
I was well aware that TROVE was in the sights of the Politicians, but was unaware of this petition.
One more signature on it.
I have used it extensively and local historians have also been making themselves heard.

Re: Help decoding census writing
I can't decipher the writing in the 1881 Census, but the following should answer the Harriet/Mary mystery.
Harriet Lark(e) died Q1 1873 (Norwich Death 4b 68)
Edward Marsham Lark married Mary Bateman Q2 1877 (Norwich Marriage 4b 255)
Regards
Rodit

Worked perfectly. I had to change to "NSW BMD" and the relevant bits (thus learning a very small bit about LUA programming), but thanks again to you both.

Re: Breaking a SOURCE into smaller elements
Gents Thanks for your replies. I had scoured the Forum for a similar thing, but "Demerge" was the word I should have looked for. Arthur: That is just what I was looking for. Mike: When I said EVERYTHING, every NSW BDM source got changed to NSW Birth so I had a little panic, got back to squ...

Breaking a SOURCE into smaller elements
I am looking for assistance with the following problem. Over the years I have been adding to my wife’s family in New South Wales, using as a source “NSW BDM” which I have used for Births, Marriages and Deaths. I now have some 2000 entries - all using the same Source. (This has also been used in some...

Restoring CD/DVD Family Trees
Some years ago I created a couple of CDs using the Websites & Family Tree CD/DVD facility. Recently I decided to revise them and bring them up date. Upon going to do this, they were not listed as being available in the list of Packages available. Some more recent ones were listed. I realised tha...

Re: Missing child facts in property box FACTS tab
Hi Wayne I may be able to solve your first problem. At the end of the row of icons at the bottom of the Facts box there is a Cog Wheel. Click on this and it will open to show a Timeline Facts.. tab. Open this and you will get a list of facts for B, M, D of family members. Select those you want and t...

Re: Add Relationship to Root on Web Family Group sheet (for Web, CD or DVD)
Hello there
I have used the following Edit to the Family Member Data Reference to achieve what you are looking for:
Change %INDI.NAME%
%INDI.NAME:ADORNED_FULL% (=LifeDates2()) is =Relationship(FileRoot(),%INDI%) of =FileRoot()
Cheers

Mike and David Thanks for your responses. I have been away travelling, so have only just opened them. Mike If I had wanted a lesson on how to think through Expressions I would have asked for it. I just use FH to record family stuff, without wishing to become an expert in programming which I believe ...

Re: Census Flags
As an addition to this topic, I have ancestors in Canadian censuses of 1911, 1916, 1921 and 1926. In Diagrams I have used =IsTrue( %INDI.CENS[year=1841].SOUR>_TYPE% = "Census" ) etc, for all the English censuses as per Mike's response, and for the Canadian ones I have created the following...

DVD Enhancement
Back in the day I created a DVD with the ability to search for names. See attachment. Much water has flowed under the water since then, and I have not been able to reproduce it. How to remove/delete a Fact Flag
I seem to remember a question about this some time back, but can't find it. I have a Tentative flag set against a death date for an ancestor which has now been confirmed. How do I delete the Tentative Flag, If I hit Delete it removes the Fact. From memory, it was a simple procedure. Regards Roger

Re: Poor or no response opening FindMyPast images
I am using Chrome, but have just updated from v91 to v92. There have also been reports of some global internet disruptions yesterday, which may or may not have had some bearing. Also I use the Australian FMP site, although my renewal came through the US site and I paid in $US after having paid in St...

Poor or no response opening FindMyPast images

This helped initially but I am experiencing the problem again. When accessing the same images through...

I received the same email offering a lot of records I will not use - Irish and American (a lot of basic Australian and NZ records are available for free already, or on Ancestry). When I queried FMP about the probable increase in price, plus 1921 Census records, I was told that "as a a loyal sub...

Re: Diagram Icons in FH7
Mike I read all that in the Help segment. The problem was the ProgramData folder After a lot of Googling around I discovered that the ProgramData folder is HIDDEN. I then had to find how to UNHIDE (?) it. The problem has now been resolved, but it is becoming apparent that a degree in computer progra...
