Re: Diagram Icons in FH7
Mike I read all that in the Help segment. The problem was the ProgramData folder After a lot of Googling around I discovered that the ProgramData folder is HIDDEN. I then had to find how to UNHIDE (?) it. The problem has now been resolved, but it is becoming apparent that a degree in computer progra...

Diagram Icons in FH7
Having come to grips with some of the changes - including the Text from Source stuff - I find that I am unable to use the Icon facility in Diagrams as I used to do. I have used the icons downloaded from Brian's Icons for Censuses, B, M, and D, recording , little pictures of Miners, Ships, etc. These...

It wasn't a problem, just something I hadn't come across before.
Mike
Thanks for your explanation.

Fact Text appearing in Reports
i have just looked at a "Record Detail - Individuals" Report and spotted an unusual (to me) occurrence. Where the Residence Fact used the default Text, {date} {individual} lived {place} <with {other=resident}> , the Record Detail showed Date, Place, Address, Source, Multimedia Object. Where I had us...

Lost Expression
Many moons ago I asked for assistance in identifying Ancestors with coloured Diagrams. Due to circumstances I have lost this Expression. It was a derivative of =IsAncestorOf(%INDI%,FileRoot()) ,starting with my Grandparents. Thus the File Root part would be taken by my grandparents whose RID's are 1...

Re: Show Project Statistics Plug in behaving oddly
Thanks, Mike. Problem resolved. Both projects were/are running in the same environment, and I had used the Plug-in before on one of them . This is the one which i designated Plug-in 1. When I initially clicked on it yesterday, it advised me to update from Version 1.9 to Version 2. I did this. The Pro...

Show Project Statistics Plug in behaving oddly
Following a recent Topic, I have downloaded the ' Show Project Statistics ' plug-in and used it on a couple of Projects with the results as shown in the Attachments - 'Plug in 1' and 'Plug in 2' The first is about 1/3 of the screen and allows me to select options on the bottom menu, the second fills...

Re: Narrative Report Heading how to change it?
If you go to Report Options > Page Layout > Header, you will probably find
"Descendants of Emily Matilda Nash/Payne by Generation".
You can edit this out just to read "Descendants by Generation", or remove it completely.
Cheers

Re: Relationship to Root
Right click on one of the Record Labels (ID, Dates, etc), click on Configure
Click on Relationship to Root and use the Right hand arrow to place it in the Column list. you can then move it up and down to where you would like it to be.
Cheers

Thanks for all your replies. However, I have, in the past, had 'Your reference' inputs acted on when the order was for the Standard Service. And, yes, there was a number of deaths registered with the same name and similar age registered in the particular area in the time span I was looking at. I plu...

GRO PDF Sytem
I feel that I should bring an apparent anomaly in the GRO's PDF email system to your attention. I recently ordered a PDF image of an ancestor's Death certificate, indicating in the box "Your reference" that she be the "Wife of Samuel...". This was to isolate the correct certificate from several deat...

I use the Emigration fact and add the arrival date and ship in Notes, as per the attached screen shot.
(If it was an Emigration, that is. You can use a similar method for Transportation, but you will have to create a Custom Fact.)
Cheers

Re: Suppress abbreviation 'USA' from Publish/Books any report
Could you just NOT include USA in the Place description for your US places, but include the other countries as and when they occur. I have a similar situation where the biggest majority are English, with some US, Australian and Canadian, as well as the rest of the UK. These countries ARE included in...

I treat occupations in a similar way. Enter Occupation as 'labourer" and reports show "...he was a labourer...".
