Re: Some Repositories Missing from Records Window
Thanks Mark for your comment (I will take a look at what you are proposing after solving the current issue). All I am doing is using the standard templates from the list whilst some repositories are showing but others are not. Mike, thanks also for coming back to me, The first screenshot is of a Tem...

Re: Some Repositories Missing from Records Window
Thanks Mike for your quick response, I am pretty sure that Sources affected are Template Sources and not Generic. What do you want me to provide… I can show you another screenshot of further down my Source List, showing a missing Template Repository, a normal Template Repository and a normal Generic...

Some Repositories Missing from Records Window
Hello all, I have realised that some of my repositories are missing from the records window.....But only some??? I think they are Templated Sources and not Generic. Screenshot 2024-03-21 154749.JPG I have deleted the Repository, re-entered it, saved the file, saved the project, re-visited the projec...

Re: Text to User defined Rich Text Output (for previous entered events)
Thanks to you both for your responses. I have used the plugin "Convert Text from Source to Rich Text" which is very good, but I was hoping there was something a bit more automated, to cope with a lot of older type entries....... I actually created something a bit more visible via this meth...

Text to User defined Rich Text Output (for previous entered events)
Hello FHUG members, I am coming around to looking at previously generated items through AS and trying to find a way of auto converting the text version of the Text to Source output produced before the Rich Text feature was introduced. All of these options Baptisms, Burials, Marriages, Birth Certs et...

Re: Simple Instruction on Exporting FH Tree to Ancestry
Hello Mike and thanks for your help. I would just like to put my FH version of the family tree on Ancestry, (maybe split into separate family chunks) so people can have a look. If it gives me hints then that's ok as well. As I mentioned in my first message, for the first trial I used your plugin FH ...

Re: Simple Instruction on Exporting FH Tree to Ancestry
Thank you Mike and Mark for your prompt replies. Points taken on board. Having had a day or two to think about this and the ramifications of data protection, copyright etc, my thoughts have slightly changed on the exporting of my FH data to Ancestry. OK, this is what I would like to achieve with you...

I read many old posts on this beforehand..... I used Mike Tate's export Gedcom plugin and selected ANC option but didn't change any optio...

Re: Census conversion - thank you! Other sources on to do list?
Thanks for your reply John. When I select Census Source Convert, in the top left the Census option is greyed out so I cannot find the 1939 register entries when I apply the filter of say '1939'. It is not giving me the option to find the 1939 entries. I completed the Census entries a long time ago s...

Re: Census conversion - thank you! Other sources on to do list?
Hello all, I know this may be 'old hat' for most of the users, but is there any way of converting the 1939 register text from source to rich text via AS please? The fantastic AS program has allowed me to convert all the census data that I had (and tidy up quite a bit!), but I can't seem to find anyt...

Template / Autotext / Text to Source
Seasons Greetings to all FHUG users, I must have read the Autotext / Template / DEA manual xxx times recently and I seem to be going around in circles. I am trying to enhance my knowledge on setting up a Template Source for a USA Divorce document. I have the media document, and I want to select a te...

Re: Rename Selected Source Media
I have been guilty in the past of loading new media images and not standardising the titles, the same with the media files jpg names. It is that I was referring to when I meant preparing the data better before I run the Gedcom process (nothing to do with the Gedcom process in particular). When I loo...

Re: Rename Selected Source Media
Thanks for the Plugin update Mike, it worked a treat. I certainly wouldn't have been able to do the mod to the Plugin without your help. All updated little by little and checked accordingly. It also flushed out a few idiosyncrasies which I have dealt with. How you remember/know how to set up the lua...

Re: Rename Selected Source Media
Thanks Mike for your reply. My main issue is Baptisms, Burials and Marriages. At the moment I have no identifier in the filenames for the Baptism and Burial categories. Nearly all of these have been produced through AS so there is some standardization already. But I don't wish to have the whole stri...

Rename Selected Source Media
I have searched and found this little gem. Screenshot 2022-12-07 160731.jpg I have used the following to see what it does and yes it does convert the Media Name to the actual File Name. My question is, I have the following Baptism below: Screenshot 2022-12-07 161059.jpg How do I edit the Plugin to p...

Re: The Next Generation Export
Ok it's been a little while regarding the Gedcom transfer from FH7 to TNG 13.1 . I will try to highlight the steps that I carried out to try to achieve a smooth transfer. I am sure that what I list below is already known by certain FH7/TNG users, so I apologize for highlighting things that some user...

Re: The Next Generation Export
Hello Tatewise and Sheepdip. Thanks again for the input. One thing that my TNG update has shown is that the TNG system doesn't cope well with lumped sources, I have only really found this out when doing this current update. The last time I updated was about two years ago when using FH6 and as I am a...

Re: The Next Generation Export
Ok, the guy from TNG went on to my system last night and he confirmed that "none of you media is linked to anyone"...which is good to find out. His last line was "I'm guessing that the links were not present in your Gedcom file". This morning I have deleted my tree again off TNG ...

Re: The Next Generation Export
Hello again and thank you for your input. OK, I have cleaned out my tree from TNG and the only old links that are left in TNG according to the also very helpful guy that wrote the TNG software are the media links. I removed the old GEDCOM file from the gedcommlh directory in TNG. I went back into FH...

Thank you Tatewise and Sheepdip for your input and help on this, sorry for the delayed reply but I have been away for a few days. Hello Tatewise and Sheepdip11, Many thanks for your input........ I have to admit that this transfer between FH7 and TNG is getting me down. Re: The Next Generation Export
Thanks for your update Mike, I'll take a look at your suggestions. One question though at the moment.....If I run a FH7 TNG export gedcom and I do not select process Multimedia, i.e. it just produces the Gedcom file, and then I FTP the images across as a manual separate process to the correct direct...
