Re: Individuals without any Sources
It is probably not the environment, just that FH hangs with the Not Responding message. Use Unsourced Individuals link to download plugin V0.3 which adds a progress bar to prevent FH hanging. Thanks Mike, I'll give it a go. As you say, its unlikely the environment because it's a high spec gaming la...

If you ever have the time to modify it so it will complete on a large project, I'd be interested.
Thanks

Re: Individuals without any Sources
Roberto, we are no longer allowed to attach plugins to posts for security reasons and must use file share links. The plugin was never popular enough to warrant publishing in the Plugin Store. Use the Unsourced Individuals link to download the plugin V0.2. Hmm does this plugin not like large files? ...

Thanks for this. I have the very issue ADSL broadband and a 1.35gb cache file which I have to remember to delete each time I use FH.

Re: Unmarried couples in narrative reports.
In such situations (and there are a few) I've used the marriage fact but changed the sentence to say they had a relationship and included known dates (aka if there are children then either side of the first and last children). I tend to prefer it to using the default wording of unmarried couple. I a...

Re: 1921 England Census
I have a few examples where the whole family were listed under the surname of the first entry when they actually had different surnames which were correctly listed on the images. My great grandparents are listed under my great grandmother's maiden name because her brother lived with them as it was h...

Re: Launching FH in Win 11
Thanks for confirming this change in behaviour. I was beginning to think I had false memory syndrome. Clearly, MS have not implemented the Recent list on pinned items, though it does work in other locations. Perhaps it will come back some day on a minor upgrade. You can have recent items showing on...

Re: Change one specific instance of a sentence in a narrative report
To remove the "had a relationship with" from the reports you could add a marriage fact for the couple but then edit the sentence for that particular fact replacing the standard template with {note} then leave the note field for that fact empty. It will then not say anything about the relat...

DEA Plugin Issue
I was interested in looking at possibly using DEA for Census entry because of the file reloading lags I get with AS because of the size of my project (68k+). However in spite of installing CP's Burial DEA when I select "Prepare citation to existing source" and select a burial source in the...

Re: Issue with Lumped Source Splitter
Thanks Mike, I wasn't aware you could have two scenarios for shared Fact Witnesses and associated Source Citations. I think it's quite likely that's the difference between when it ran OK and when it failed. The second time there were Fact Witnesses the marriages would have been edited first to inclu...

Re: Issue with Lumped Source Splitter
Thanks Mike, I'm well familiar with the "undo" function. :D I chose not to undo the Probate Calendar entries but to link them manually as they were already created and I expected it would happen again if I re-ran it, but anything is possible. One weird thing I did notice was that the sourc...

Re: Issue with Lumped Source Splitter
Hhm, just had a weird result. I had 67 citations for National Probate Calendar, I think it was 33 unique when it did the initial record check. It has created all the sources but only assigned 3 sources to the correct events. There are 61 citations remaining against the original source record and 28 ...

Re: Issue with Lumped Source Splitter
Wow, thanks Mark that has made a difference. I've not got many at the moment to run it against as still trying to tidy up the sources but I did have a 2 citation source. It searched through 91k+ records and then completed within a couple of minutes. Normally even with very few citations it would tak...

Re: Issue with Lumped Source Splitter
There's no progress bar on the plugin. I tend to run it from the Plugin window because at least then you get the status "running" showing until it prompts for interaction and/or completes. If you "pin" it to the tools menu, you get nothing at all to show its running until it prom...

Change "Generic Type" for specific source records
Is there a way to change the generic type for specific source records from say a named list please? I've had a look at change any tag and I don't think that will work because the tag remains the same, just the text within that needs to be changed and it isn't all source records with this particular ...

Re: Issue with Lumped Source Splitter
Hi Mark I've run this against a few sources (had to add "where within" citation text to a few as had literally just been linking to the source) but so far so good, albeit had one repeat of the issue. First three times I ran it today worked as expected, cancel button after completing closed...

Re: Issue with Lumped Source Splitter
Hi Mark Sorry should have included more details. I'm splitting generic sources, one source at a time. I've just under 68k in the project but the two sources that have caused me issues had 74 (split to 39 sources) and 81 (split to 38 sources) citations respectively. Even when there has only been 8 ci...

Issue with Lumped Source Splitter
I'm running Mark's Lumped Source Splitter against some of my early source records as I've moved census entries from citations to full sources and need to convert all the early ones I created. It's been very helpful so far. However, have encounted an issue with trying to close the plugin by using the...

Re: Updating existing FH records with data from CSV
Ooh I'm glad someone mentioned Cremations and death dates as it had completely slipped my mind.
Just amended the plugin having found I had about 15 cremations with no death date so they now have death dates in the export.

Re: Updating existing FH records with data from CSV
Hi Mark Firstly many thanks for doing this, it is very much appreciated. It works great for creating births from baptisms as far as I can see, not come across any issues. However, there is an issue with creating deaths from either burial or probate dates. It is creating death dates even where no bur...
