Re: Page Breaks in Source Text
Thanks for the response Mike. Yes I've been using the rich source editor, however, I still can't find how to insert a page break. Maybe that feature doesn't exist. Most of the other formatting uses the same keyboard shortcuts as per Microsoft Word - e.g CTRL U, CTRL B etc., but CTRL Return doesn't i...

Please forgive me if this has already been addressed but I couldn't find any reference to my particular question. When creating a New Source, such as for Divorce Proceedings, is it possible to insert page breaks within the "Empty Text" from "Add text from Source"? Thanks for any ...

Re: 1921 UK Census AS Source Template
Thank you for the 1921 Census template which works for me in the main and has proved to be very useful. Just one observation, when entering "both alive" for the children in the census, this doesn't seem to populate into the notes for the relevant individual in Family Historian. Nor does th...

Re: Date format in queries
Hi Mike Thanks for the response and advice. As you point out quarter dates are a consideration, I tend to enter them in FH as Qn YYYY, where n is the number 1 to 4. I am running a custom descendants query which I then export to csv. The query can be modified for start person and the number of genera...

Re: Date format in queries
Thanks for the response. I am exporting the data from charts to excel (eventually) and using that data to print labels for the family group trees I'm working on. 01/01/1867 - 05/09/1900 looks much tidier than 1/1/1867 - 5/9/1900 especially when the marriage date actually does have the leading zeroes...

Date format in queries
Sorry if this has already been addressed, have been unable to find an answer. How do I get a query to provide the date, such as birth date, with leading zeros? I use %INDI.BIRT[1].DATE:ABBREV3% but instead of 01/01/1867, for example, it returns 1/1/1867. Thanks for any suggestions Kind regards Marga...

Label Printing
Hi Is there already a feature/plugin available for printing labels from within Family Historian or for exporting the data to enable printing from MS Word? I have Descendant charts which are too wide for a standard A4 ink jet printer and A4 binder, so I use blank, paper working charts that are folded...

PDF file output is not enabled (once again)
I realise this issue had been reported numerous times over the last few years, and have read the details, however despite applying the suggested fixes this is still an issue. Using the alternate means of printing to pdf using the Family Historian PDF the file saved, when viewed in Acrobat reader, sh...

Re: Surname changes
Hi Mike When you say the different NAME is recorded in the Source details, where are you referring? Is this the modification of auto text within Ancestral Sources or in the Sources section in the properties box for the associated Fact in the Individuals record, or somewhere else? Kind regards Margaret

Many thanks to both Adrian and Mike for their advice, which is greatly appreciated. I've already added the alternate names in the Main tab for Individuals, as per the knowledge base article. Surname changes
Hi I'm looking for advice on the best way to record/document changes in surnames in Family Historian v6, other than on marriage. Also should the individual be listed with the surname of the father, the surname registered at birth, the surname noted in the baptism or the surname from one of the censu...
