Re: How to create a Lumper Source Record for NSW Marriages?
I assume that the “Text from Source”, “Notes” and “Media” tabs are related to my now Lumper Source Record. So, I guess my only option is to use the Note: text box at the bottom of the “Citation Specific Details” section. If you look at the ‘Show’ field at the top of those tabs you will see a drop-d...

It works OK for me. Note: you must not leave a gap between ">" and "21". So >21 works, but not > 21.

Re: Brides marrying young
The difficulty, or course, is that you can't always be sure of their age unless a birth date was included in their baptism record. I have a case where the bride might have been 14, but that's only if she was baptised within a few weeks of birth.

is there a way to select a particular Place and somehow view the Record/Fact that has that Place recorded? Use Tools > Work with Data > Places. Select the place from the list and then click Where Used on the right. In the Results set you can click on the Place name and the Property Box will open wi...

See this page from The National Archives which gives a guide to finding birth/marriage/death records of British subjects abroad. https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/help-with-your-research/research-guides/birth-marriage-death-sea-or-abroad/ If you follow the link (in that page) to search for Births ...

Can anyone tell me how I see a copy of the aforementioned online please We need a few more clues. “Not born in UK” doesn’t narrow the field much! Do you know where he was born? Were his parents British? Is there a way of seeing the names of children a person had / has The answer again depends on wh...

I’m not in a position to use an export plugin at present but this might be useful to me in a few months time, when I will also experiment with Mike’s plugin. I like the simplicity of your plugin and it will probably meet most of my needs. You said Any other simple options or data fields that you wou...

Re: Adding Witnesses to a Source
As Adrian says, witnesses can't be attached to sources, only to facts. However the simplest approach would be include a transcription of the notices in the Text from Source for the source record and that would be self-explanatory. You say the two notices are one above the other in the newspaper, so ...

To test Mike’s theory that space characters have been replaced by tabs, use Diagram Options > Text > Margins & Tabs and reduce the Tab width. (The default is 0.75”). Does that improve the layout?

Re: Origin of a citation's title as shown in the citations panel
Ian, I imagine you want one Source Record and each associated Citation refers to a different source. So, yes you are a lumper. Mike, is that what you meant to say? If each citation refers to a different source that is not lumping, that’s splitting. Perhaps you meant to say each citation refers to a...

Re: Importing from TMG v8 - Confused by exhibits structure
.... I'm assuming there is no way to do this post import? It could be done post import but it is probably quicker to re-import. You would need to start by deleting the contents of the FH Media folder so that all the links are broken, and then use Tools > External File Links > Auto Repair Links. FH ...

You need to use File > Backup/Restore > Restore Backup. You then browse for the backup file.

Re: Modify the entries in Timeline Facts panel for other family members?
No, the timeline facts show only dates. However if you work with diagrams and include the place of birth in the text scheme you can easily see the children’s birth places in sequence across the diagram. Alternatively there is a plugin by Mike Tate called Quick Family Facts which displays a pop-up su...

Re: Burial info unexpectedly showing in some boxes.
The box text scheme is set as Birth, Marr, Death, Nickname (custom). As you are using a custom text scheme you have probably introduced an error in your customisation. Please post a screenshot of the Edit Text Scheme dialog (ensuring that all items in the right hand pane are visible) so that we can...

You have used two different styles of double quotes. The ones round “United States” and “U” are slanting, the others are upright, as in "Register". Try replacing them all with upright style.

If you are using the default box colour scheme the descendant boxes will be pale yellow and their ...

You could probably simplify the note. In cases where there is a definitive source such as a birth certificate or a birth date in a baptism record I don’t usually go into much detail about the inconsistent sources. (An exception would be a case where I have reason to believe the date on the birth cer...

As I said, the timeline facts can be toggled on or off in the facts tab, using the calendar icon. I think they are on by default. And you can choose which timeline facts to include.
