Re: Registration Districts?
Anyone with urban Reg Districts in big cities may think differently given how concentrated such areas might be. I'm a big advocate for keeping it simple. A Registration District is a District, no matter how large or small. As Lorna said, offices moved and multiplied and the exact location where an ...

Like Adrian, I don't consider a Registration District to be an address (because it's a district), so include it in the Place field.

I wish it was in the store as well -- maybe you should comment on the original thread and ask the author to publish it?

Gary, look at Change source template (19143) -- I've found that plugin (not in the store) works pretty well for what you're describing.

Your web page allows anyone who wants to very easily find: your name; an gmail email address for you; your home address (and see inside it in October 2023, and how much it cost then). They can make a good stab at your age, by using your parents dates. I've found you on Facebook (by triangulating wit...

Re: Origin of 'Generic Type' in Source Records tab?
A Templated Source is just a Generic Source in fancy clothes -- i.e. with some metafields added. The generic source fields aren't usually populated in a Templated source, but you can add them and populate them via the All tab for the source record converned (Right click on the record title and Add f...

Re: How to record two possible baptisms
In the context of the Church of England a ‘private’ baptism was one which did not take place in the church. Typically it took place in the family’s home soon after the birth and was done as a matter of urgency because the baby was weak and thought unlikely to survive. If the child did survive he/sh...

Re: Allow Report sentences to recognise Individuals who are Living.
We're getting into the realms where narrative sentences will never be good enough.
What about when one parent is living and one is not?
What about when two of the children are alive and one isnt?
What tense is appropriate then?

Hi John - Thanks for that. There is one other thing I've noticed;- If you enter a District which the plugin assumes is an invalid format then it brings up the Lua Error Dialog. On this you have the options of Copy, Continue or Exit. The first two are fine but if you use Exit then it shuts everythin...

yes, that's how it works. Designed (presumably) to stop people moving two copies of the software around more than 2 PCs on a regular basis.
You could try explaining your issue to Calico Pie support and see if they can offer a solution.
