Re: Shared Use of software -work collaboratively?

Interesting as I've been pondering the same as I am on the verge of replacing our aging desktop with separate laptops for me and my wife. I am also looking forward to Version 7 being released and was wondering if Calico Pie may offer a "family" licence for a single household. I know that's hard to m...

Re: Nova printer driver

Just wondering what operating system you are using. Windows 10 includes a PDF "printer". I don't like having too many different programs/apps on my system so I uninstall Nova PDF and stick to the Windows PDF creator instead. As Valkrider says it would be good if an updated version could be included ...

Epub version of Getting Started guide

Does anyone know if there is there an Epub version of the Getting the most from Family Historian 5 pdf document that is supplied with the software.  I'd like to have a copy of this on my E-book reader. The e-Book reader I use does support pdf documents but the formatting doesn't make it easy to read...

FHUG website

I've noticed the FHUG website now appears to want to install a new add-on. The following information bar appears which says 'This website want to run the following add-on: ‘Remote Data Services Data Control’ from ‘Microsoft Corporation’. If you trust the website and the add-on and want to allow it t...

Mother in law on All relatives chart

It is already possible to do this.  The all relatives chart can work for a couple too. Start off by selecting yourself and click on the button to draw the all relatives chart. Now hold down the Alt key while simultaneously clicking on your spouse. Click the button to draw the all relatives chart aga...

Died of

Agreed, I have two similar examples and have used the following:

1) Died of 'injuries sustained during action in the first world war'

2) Died of 'complications arising while giving birth'

Column Sorting

I would like to be able to sort columns in ascending or descending order without using the ALT key, similar to most Microsoft products. The sort order could be indicated by an up-arrow to show that the column is sorted in ascending order, or a down-arrow, to indicate that the column is sorted in des...

Populate a map with all your ';places';.

Tim, well done, I find the ability to pinpoint locations on a map very interesting and I still use Family Tree Maker for this feature. However, when you have a lot of relatives who lived within a close proximity to each other, the resulting map in FTM becomes too cluttered but with AutoRoute, you ha...

How big is a Family?

Personally I have decided that while ever the performance of Family Historian does not suffer, I will keep all the information that I have in a single file, no matter how distant that relative may be.  You never know when that information may be useful to someone. To make it quicker to find the pers...

Viewing links

There is a query available for download to do exactly this. Select downloads from the main menu on this page, then select queries. Scroll down to the bottom, select the 2nd page and about half way down, you will see a query called 'Related How'. Download this query, then in Family Historian, select ...

Location Map

I would like FH to be able to pinpoint locations on a world or country map. If possible to draw arrows showing the migration path (i.e I have one relative who was born in Poland, married in England and died in Australia). This is one reason I continue to use Family Tree Maker as well as FH[wink] ID:...

Time Line

I would like FH to be able to draw a 'timeline' for a given list of people. In addition, I would like to be able to enter 'milestones' such as events in history that are relevant to me and/or the people in the timeline. This feature is one reason I continue to use Family Tree Maker as weel as FH[win...
