Re: Batch updates to Date of Death?
Sorry, Yes all their settings remain the same throughout updates to the gedcom. Every user has their own page with all their settings on which are either tick boxes or radio buttons. Which include being able to edit the gedcom download parts of it etc.

Re: Batch updates to Date of Death?
Hi Tatewise, As long as you remember to keep your living people flagged. Then all you have to do is upload the tree via the FH Export Gedcom File Plugin. You then use Jane's query in FH to collate all the flagged Living people in the Export File. Run the Plugin which then flags them all in TNG. Next...

Re: Batch updates to Date of Death?
Some clarifications on TNG It is possible with TNG to protect living individuals and to further protect some to only selected individuals. Firstly it is possible to limit the site to those who have applied and been given access by you to the site. Then if you have more than one tree you can apply th...

Re: How to not mark the deceased without dates as living
I think I have corrected all my errors I hadn't used a Std UTF8 gedcom Or pasted the IDs into the form - they look like this now 'I7178' with " ", deleted. But none of the Living Flags have been set. What have I missed? I don't know but I just loaded the ids straight from the query and it ...

Re: How to not mark the deceased without dates as living
It's been a while since I made an update to TNG and I think I might have done something in the wrong order. I cannot remember how to remove the quotes or comma in Notepad. I'll have another go this morning.

Re: How to not mark the deceased without dates as living
Hi Jane, I know you are away on your hols soon so if you have no time please don't worry this can wait. I have just tried to run fh_set_living.php and got this error? Does it mean anything to you? Query: UPDATE tng_people SET living = 1 WHERE personID in () You have an error in your SQL syntax; chec...

Re: Multiple Private Notes in a query
I have edited and reworded this I think the issue of only one #NR note being found by query might be because Steveflanuk was referring and using the front page of the property box and using the note field under the Death field box. Not a Fact Note Field as described in some of the posts following St...

OK That worked. The actual Property Box folder was missing not just the contents.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Help with Property Box
I tried available items with the same result as installation settings, window blinks and Property Box is as per my screen grab.
I'll try copying the files in the morning.
Yes I have altered the Property Box. I used to have a ToDo Tab but removed it off both m/cs a couple of weeks or more ago.

Re: Help with Property Box
if i go to Customise Property Box the right-hand window is empty. If I then click on installation settings it fills the right-hand window but as i click on OK the customise window blinks a couple of times and the information disappears from right-hand window.

Help with Property Box
I have been working on my laptop and for some reason the top of the property box that has the boxes for filling in Name, Born, Died, Note, Parentage have disappeared. Leaving the Spouse part immediately under the Main tab. The property box on my desktop is still working displaying correctly. What ha...

Re: Recording DNA matches in Family Historian
Jane, When you select Family ID to only appear in spouse boxes, how did you do it? I have done it via Diagram options > Text > and edit the text scheme item for Family ID > Box types and conditions. But cannot get it to display correctly on every occasion, most are ok but sometimes both of the coupl...

Re: Diagram > Family Connection Mapper
Using the How Related tool and selecting Display Graphically, every time I create a new diagram I get a different random colour. If I go into another type of Diagram such as All Relatives and select some boxes to change line colour it displays the default colour that I have set. So it would appear t...

Diagram > Family Connection Mapper
When in "Family Connection Mapper / Format" there is a tick box to "Save as default" Should I be able to set the default line colour as well as the line thickness. It will set the thickness as a default but not the colour.

Re: Recording DNA matches in Family Historian
Jane, This looks like just what I want, better than my named list. You might want to check your download and remove the "2" from Primary Link before too many people download it. I didn't think you could move Ancestry DNA into other sites. I already have my DNA from another source in Gedmat...

Re: Most Recent Common Ancestor (MRCA) report
Is it possible to remove the coloured lines and boxes on these diagrams? Or at least have the same colour for each diagram. If using the no spouse and no siblings options, it is not really necessary.
I have looked but have not found a way.

Re: Surnames for nobility from the Middle Ages
I have used Eleanor /of Aquitane/ . It is not necessarily the persons birth place such as in Duke of Edinburgh. For the roman numerals I put those with the first name this also helps when you are sorting names, for example in "Individual Records" when their are several Edwards or Henrys et...

Re: How to not mark the deceased without dates as living
Thanks I'll give it a go next time I upload a gedcom, I've put five trees on there at the moment so it might not be too long. I've disposed of the named list and just flagged all the living.
