What do most people do with all this data?
As suggested by Mike, I create Source records for my all Facts and then attach the media images (jpg format) to the Source record.

Re: Adding a "remembrance" note about a person
Mike, I was just responding to Kirk's question to me which was: For your Biography" fact, what is your sentence structure for that? This is how mine is. Did you just leave it the "Default"? I just wanted to clarify to him that I do not use the FH generated sentence structure template...

Re: Adding a "remembrance" note about a person
Kirk, I don't use the computer generated sentence templates in Family Historian. I write all text from scratch in my own words, using my preferred sentence and paragraph formatting. That gives me complete control over how my output looks and avoids awkward wording and sentence formatting that the te...

Re: Adding a "remembrance" note about a person
I created a custom "Biography" Fact for Family Historian. I then add that Fact to everyone in my FH database. Once you create and open that Fact, you can write anything that you want about that person. As KFN states, you can also attach any scanned copies of notes, letters, etc. to the Bio...

Mike L. - I use the ISR format exclusively and get around that issue by including the Address in the PLACE field. I never enter anything in the Address field.

Thanks for the information, although I am surprised that Calico Pie did not have a digital method of enforcement for the active number of installations on previous versions.

Unable to Deactivate 3rd Installment of Family Historian
I just bought a new laptop and successfully installed my Version 6 licensed copy of FH on that laptop. Restored my backed-up project file with no problems. I previously had FH on my desktop and my old laptop, so 2 installations were being used. At no time during the installation process on the new l...

Some Source Images Not Appearing in ISR
I have run across an odd problem in my Individual Summary Reports . I find an occassional Source image fails to appear in the reports. When I hit the Rebuild Report tab, this will sometimes cause the image to re-appear, and, sometimes not. I also notice that hitting the Rebuild Report tab will somet...

Re: All relatives charts
Derek, I have never bothered to customize the Margin & Zoom box when creating my All Relatives pdf files, i.e., I have no preference on how the final pdf diagram displays when it is opened, other than to make sure it fits on 1 page. I simply rely on my mouse to zoom in and navigate around the di...

Re: All relatives charts
As Mike suggested , I too have always used the Single Page PDF option for my All Relatives diagrams. I have nearly 2,500 people in my database, so the diagrams get quite large. Once the diagram has been created, I use the Enable Moving/Resizing tool to decrease the Scale size to a level that will al...

Re: Info on adding addresses, emails, phone numbers
"Email" & "Phone" are in the extended FH Fact Set. For current address, you might consider creating a Custom Fact named "Current Address". I am sure others will be able to suggest more elegant solutions.

Yes, I create a Source record for that "appropriate" Fact. I then attach the scanned image as a Media record to that Source record.

Re: Old sketches - What fact
I use the same basic approach as Mike Loney suggested, create an appropriate Fact for the Individual, scan the images and attach them as Source media for that Fact. I always include appropriate Text in the Fact Note box to fully describe/discuss the history of the attached media.

Re: Diagram Text Box, Age When Married
Could you post the same Edit Text Scheme Item for the other marriage events please, i.e., the His Age and Her Age definitions. Sure. I assume you are referring to all the various text schemes that include the Marriage event with Ages. For brevity, I will just just show one of the other schemes that...

Re: Diagram Text Box, Age When Married
Here are some pictures showing the issue.
A snapshot from a Diagram showing the listing of age at marriage is sometimes missing.
The Diagram options box showing the custom text scheme that I am using.
And, the Edit Text Scheme box for my custom Marriage event.

Diagram Text Box, Age When Married
I just noticed that the "His age" and "Her age" for the Marriage event in diagram text boxes seems to be randomly displaying only in the wife's text box in some cases and only in the husband's text box in other cases. I would prefer that these ages be displayed in both the husban...

I still use FH 6.2. When you add the "Cremated" fact, a box appears which allows you to enter Date, Place, Address, and Note.

Re: Possible corruption of Calico Pie file

Re: Add Cause of Death to Pedigree Diagram Boxes
Yep, that fixed the problem. Lorna had that in her response and I somehow managed to exclude it when I made the edit to my template.I suspect you need to add the [1+] looping index to the CAUS component.
Thanks,
Bob

Re: Add Cause of Death to Pedigree Diagram Boxes
Thanks Lorna. That expression worked, but it lists the cause of death twice. See attached screenshot.
My edited template is: =ExistsText(%INDI.DEAT[1+]%,"Died:") %INDI.DEAT[1+].DATE:COMPACT% in %INDI.DEAT[1+].PLAC:TIDY%. Cause: %INDI.DEAT.CAUS%

Add Cause of Death to Pedigree Diagram Boxes
I am trying to find a way to add the Cause of death item to the pedigree diagram boxes. I don't find Cause of death as an option in any of the Text Schemes under Diagram Options>Text . Even when editing the text schemes, I do not find it as an item to select. However, I can select the Birth, Marr, D...
