wrong profile associated with topic

I just noticed that the wrong profile is associated with this topic. image2.jpg I am not the originator of this topic (although I replied to it). When I click on my profile name, it takes me to the profile of the correct originator, SimonH. I looked at some other post that I originated and they take...

Re: Double Dates Format Quoted & Not Recognized?

USMC7312,

I believe for old style/new style dates you have to use two digits after the "/".

In your example, try using 12 Feb 1798/99.

Re: How to Display Adorned Name

The format of the name in the focus window can not be modified. The best you can do is display the adorned name in the property box caption. I have attached a screen shot of what my property box caption looks like. I don't use the adorned name, but the concept is the same. To customize this go to To...

Re: Census entry if away from home

That is correct. For that particular census the child was not with the parents so would not be connected to the parents by the census record. They would still be connected via whatever other facts you might have such as birth or baptism records, etc. The census is only a record of who was at a given...

Re: Census entry if away from home

I agree with Mike. I also enter the census for the individual exactly as it shows on the census form. If I feel that I need to, I enter a note on the individual's census record pointing to the information for the census record of the family of that person. Sometimes I also add a note to the census r...

Re: Can't stay signed in

Anne,

Have you tried deleting the Family Historian User Group cookies and then refreshing the page and signing in? I have had several websites which have had problems like this that were resolved by deleting the cookies for that site. I think somehow the cookies were getting corrupted.

Re: FHUG on the move

Lorna,

I am using Chrome. It is interesting that the header is different in Chrome than in Firefox. I wonder why that is?

I figured that Jane was still playing around with the different skins.

Thanks,
Bill

Re: FHUG on the move

Colin, Thanks for letting me know, I had not noticed. For me the PHPBB logo is still there, but it looks like it might be a bit smaller. The links to the FHUG Home and Knowledge Base are great. I notice that there are now 2 links to the FAQ after the Knowledge base link. Thanks Jane! Bill imsage1.jpg

Re: FHUG on the move

Hi Jane At the risk of upsetting anyone I would like to get away from this ghastly orange skin Is it possible to go back to the green one or at least a dark grey one ? I understnd that there were 2 orange skins I have tried and neither is successful ? If you can live without the links to the home p...

That is strange. Here are screenshots of what I see in both skins.

Re: FHUG on the move

I would agree that metrolike is preferable to marina orange for me, but I like prosilver even better. In metrolike I can only see 7 1/2 of the forums on the forum home page while I can see all 9 forums with prosilver. Going into one of the forums, I can see 11 1/2 posts in metrolike while I can see ...

Re: FHUG on the move

I see that it is still there. I'm just hoping it doesn't go away as some of the other skins have. I can live without the adjustments. The compactness and color scheme work better for me.

Thanks,
Bill

For those of us who prefer a skin without so much orange, please also keep the prosilver skin.

Yes. That original report was 11 days ago. Lorna had given an update so I thought it would be alright to give an update as well. Apparently that was not appropriate. My apologies.

Just as an update... the buttons are still not visible in the marina orange skin on my PC running Windows 10 and Chrome. They are visible using any of the other skins.

Re: FHUG on the move

Helen, Yes, I saw that. I was just hoping that maybe this one was simple enough (just links to home and the knowledge base in particular) that she might make an exception when her time frees up. It's not a big deal... I can always just have to two short cuts, one to the forums and one to the rest of...

Jane,

I was just wondering. Is there any chance one of the customizations that was made to marina orange to enhance navigation might be made to the other skins also?

Re: FHUG on the move

I am back to my PC so I thought I'd test again. Everything looks fine in Firefox and IE. No buttons in Chrome although for me they also show up if I run my cursor back and forth over where they are (although they disappear again after I moved my cursor away). As for the Knowledge Base, I am able to ...
