Re: FTAnalyzer information

It is the Columns expression that determines whether it says "-" or "YES" or "Find". e.g. for the 1841 column: =TextIf( (%INDI.BIRT.DATE% > DateAt(1841,6,6)) or (%INDI.DEAT.DATE% < DateAt(1841,6,6)),"-", DateIf(Exists(%INDI.CENS[year=1841]%), "YES", ...

Re: New IsAliveAt(Individual,Date) Function

Be aware that =AgeAt(...) relies on there being a Birth Event Date . The modified version would also rely on there being a Death Event Date . (Not sure if all Date formats are handled. Anyway what does it do for Born/Died between 1800 and 1850 ?) =EstimatedAgeAt(...) uses =EstimatedBirthDate(...) th...

Re: Problem with Lookup Missing Census Facts

Bill, Are those Norwegian and German census records online somewhere? The strategy of the Plugin is to offer browser online searches for missing Census records at specific websites. However, even if it just said the missing census is not available online for the census date, then that would be helpf...

You don't need some of the complex parts because this is all good GEDCOM without UDF. --------------------------------------- -- Function: CopyChildBranch --------------------------------------- function CopyChildBranch(ptrSrc, ptrTargParent) local strTag = fhGetTag(ptrSrc) local ptrNew = fhCreateIt...

Re: Problem with Lookup Missing Census Facts

The son born USA in 1910 does not exclude him from appearing in UK 1911 & 1939 records.

I have been considering some sort of timeline based on all facts to determine whether home or abroad, but is very complex.

Re: Plugin Help

Yes, that is much better. Although that is moving the UDF Source to the Individual record as a whole ( ptrINDI ) and not the Name field ( ptrName ) as your earlier posting suggested. Also the first two lines in function CopyChildBranch(ptrSrc, ptrTargParent) must be deleted, as they effectively repl...

Re: Changing a childs father record.

Yes, until it is clear what the relationships are between the mother, daughter, birth father, and other man, then it is difficult to advise what you need to do, but it should be evident form the advice provided.
Ensure you take a Small Backup before you start rearranging, just in case!

Re: Changing a childs father record.

Yes, see how_to:removing_unwanted_relations|> Removing Unwanted Relations but don't follow that blindly. In your case you may just need to remove the unwanted father. i.e. Right-click on the unwanted father's Individual box and choose Unlink Record assuming you want to keep his record. Otherwise cho...

Re: Plugin Help

The code you posted does not work - I tried it - so your Plugin must be somewhat different. The INDI.SEX tag is perfectly valid. It is the sub-field INDI.SEX.SOUR that is a UDF. So all you need is to find the INDI.SEX (instead of INDI.NICK ) and use CopyChildren_FromTo(ptrSEX,ptrName) . Do NOT creat...

Re: Plugin Help

Assuming you want the UDF Source to become a Name Source then use: CopyChildren_FromTo(ptrUDF, ptrName) why are you messing about with ptrInsert ? Both ptrUDF and ptrName are input parameters defining the From and To fields. Also modify CopyChildBranch as I showed earlier. Yes, the debugger correctl...

Re: Updating age by plug-in

I've moved this to the Plugin Discussions Forum. Essentially, it is down to the Plugin author to ensure all data transactions are valid. You can use fhGetValueAsText(...) to read the Age back and compare with original text. The valid values are: 1 dy 99 dys 1 mn 99 mns 1 yr 99 yrs or any valid combi...

Re: Problem with Lookup Missing Census Facts

What exactly are your Emigration fact details?
Date, Place & To fields?
Does the To field match America, or USA, or U.S.A. ?

Chance would be a fine thing ;) You haven't met my wife :D

Yes, those functions will copy the Source and its sub-fields, but will not convert into a linked Source record. What you have is a Source Note with plain text @@S12345@@ . The double @ is the way GEDCOM represents a single @ character to prevent being mistaken as a link @S12345@ that links to a Sour...
