Re: How do I get a relationship to a witness

In other words, you want the relationship between two Witnesses, where one is the current witness and the other is another witness to the same fact with a particular Role.

That is complicated and there is no simple data reference syntax.

Re: Import from TMG froze during Citation import

I am only repeating a Tip from the advice I referred to earlier, that somebody found resolved a problem with Citations. All software is different. So just because other products import a TMG project satisfactorily does not guarantee that all products will do so. It may be that FH is trying to be mor...

Re: Marriage cert icon but not index icon in charts

There is no particular reason why the Expressions should not work for Marriage events the same as any other fact. If you have Copy & Pasted the Expressions there are several syntax errors in =IsTrue(ContainsText(%INDI.FAMS>MARR.SOUR>TITL%”Marriage”,STD) and Not(ContainsText(%INDI.FAMS>MARR.SOUR>TITL...

Re: "Charts" and "Diagrams" Confusion

Some of this has been discussed before in Chart or Diagram? (18371).
I cannot remember where, but CP explained they prefer to use Pedigree Chart and Fan Chart rather than Diagram because that is what they are popularly known as. So they are wrong whichever they choose!

Re: Plugin export GEDFile 4.6 URL Missing from sources

If you use Templated Sources then the ● Template Fields do not use standard GEDCOM Fields. So ● URL (Digital Location) is not the same as the MyHertitage Page or URL / Pagina of URL If you use Edit Source / Bron bewerken then all the FH Template Fields should be in the Source Notes . Possibly, but there are plenty of other ways of finding Individuals with a Census in 1881.
Also, Lost Cousin's accepts details from the E & W Census in 1841 and 1911.

I will do my best to answer your questions but not sure that I fully understand your problem. It would help if you described exactly the commands or buttons that you have used or are trying to use and what your objectives are. I'm not sure what you mean by "Free Text Narrative Report". I will assume...

I think you are talking about the chart after saving it to PDF. In that case, see FHUG Knowledge Base Single PDF Page of a Diagram . After choosing Diagram > Save Diagram As > PDF File (.pdf) accept the option Adjust PDF File Page Size so that Diagram fits into One Page then the resulting PDF will a...

Yes, use Tools > Work with Data > Generic Source Types...
Select 1881 Census entry and click Where Used... to list all 5000+.
Double-click on each Record in turn to open its Property Box and edit its Generic Type field.

Re: Question on Extending GEDCOM Structure

Yes, as long as it adheres to the GEDCOM rules for 'user-defined' custom tags, i.e. they start with an underscore (_). FH already has lots of such extensions as listed in GEDCOM Extension List which does not include the FH V7 extensions _SDATE, _FSID, _NOTA, _RNOT, _SRCT, _PCIT, etc. However, such e...

Re: Import from TMG froze during Citation import

Leave it a while, but you may have no option but to end the FH task via the Task Manager. It is quite rare for FH to hang like that. I'm not sure how you would find the 5191st out of 7657 Source Citations in TMG. Maybe, review the TMG Tools > Master Source List and inspect Source # 5191 or perhaps 5...

Re: Marriage status plug-in needed

That seems to be the default for all items using the FH v7 style Templates. However, a simple change to the Template does display the ...

Re: Marriage status plug-in needed

Would it be better to add some details to the Divorce events so that they appear in the Diagram box text? e.g. You must have some idea when they Divorced ~ either after the preceding Marriage or before the next Marriage. Re: Marriage status plug-in needed

I am not sure that setting the Status to Divorced will add anything more than the Divorced Event already provides. The marriage Status is a custom FH field and not defined in the GEDCOM specification. It is useful to set Unmarried Couple or Never Married or even Unknown, because those change the wor...

Re: Partner (not spouse) designation

No, you would NOT use a differently-TYPEed MARR for becoming "unmarried". That would contravene the GEDCOM "event tags provide a further classification of the parent tag but does not change the basic meaning of the parent tag." You would use the standard Divorce or Annulment events, or possibly the ...

Re: Compare birth year with a year value in a note

It would be relatively easy with a custom Plugin, but you will have to learn how to write Lua scripts.

With a Query, the tricky process is extracting the year digits from the Note GRO entry.
There are new functions in FH V7 that could probably do that, but not in FH V6 that you are still uisng.

Paul, this is in danger of going off at a tangent and I may choose to start a new thread for that. The grid is a transcript rather than an attempt to mimic the form, so the single-column format is better, especially as wide tables are a problem in rich text.
