I'm well advanced in updating the Plugin to optionally allow ALL Media to be limited in size.

Re: showing spouses without children in a published report

I think if you examine the narrative closely, all the spouses/partners will be mentioned, albeit briefly. It may just say: He married Jane SMITH , or He had a liaison with Jane SMITH . If there are no Facts or Relatives recorded against the spouse/partner, then they won't get a separate paragraph to...

Re: Export Gedcom Plugin - Resizing media

I have re-examined the code and it does only apply the Max height/Max width to Part Frame cutouts. Sorry. The full frame files just get copied as they are. So the trick would be to add an almost full frame cutout to those oversized Media. I think I chose not to apply the Max height/Max width to all ...

Re: Map Life Facts and Leaflet

It seems that 5 users have downloaded the prototype Plugin. Have any of you any feedback? I have been running further tests, and added some extra bells & whistles. Thus prototype Map Life Facts Plugin Version 4.2.5 Date 25 Sep 2018 ZIP file is attached. Upack before use. The testing revealed tha...

Re: Export Gedcom Plugin - Resizing media

Yes, it does already.
For any Multimedia Conversion mode that includes Part Frames the Max height/width below will restrict image size.
They are greyed out for modes that do not apply.
They currently default to 600 but you can increase them to 1000.

Re: Entering children of unmarried women

Sorry about the extra a.k.a. which are my mistake. The Template for Name (a.k.a.) should be: =TextIf( (RecordId() = 1302) or (RecordId() = 1300), Text( "(" . %INDI.NAME:FULL% . ")" ), CombineText( "a.k.a. ", %INDI.NAME[2+]:FULL%,,) ) Where 1302 and 1300 are the two Reco...

Re: Map Life Facts Plugin Error

In Tools > Work with Data > Places you can sort on any column, which should help working on locations in order. BTW: I have added some extra explanation in my previous reply. So, you should just use the quotes where necessary to correct false plots. Also, you can do that in the Plugin Substitute fie...

Re: Map Life Facts Plugin Error

Dealing with your last question first, it seems that Google Maps is very tolerant of non-alphanumeric symbols such as # , * etc. In fact, I suspect it ignores them all, and just focusses on the alphanumeric words and numbers and often disregards their order. I tried Geocoding with Boston Bellevue St...

Welcome to the FHUG . Is this your first use of FH or are you a long-time user? Please go into a bit more detail about the process you have used. Sorry, you know what you did, but we don't. Especially how you created the Chart and added it to the Contents. Screenshots may well be low resolution depe...

Re: Entering children of unmarried women

The Text Scheme changes only affect FH Diagram displays.

But the changes that add custom attribute Name for Diagrams or set a custom Flag do impact the GEDCOM and get exported.

They are all valid suggestions. I did say there were several alternative solutions.

Re: Entering children of unmarried women

OK, there are several alternative solutions, but most involve editing the Diagram Text Scheme . So if you are unfamiliar with that technique, use the Help buttons on each screen where necessary. The solution I propose is keyed to the child's Record Id , so hopefully you never renumber your Individua...

Re: Entering children of unmarried women

The way you have entered them is perfectly correct, as it is the genealogy convention to enter people by their birth name. Presumably the Mother is not a genealogist, but to satisfy her you could print a Descendant Chart adjusted just for her. The easiest way to do that is to temporarily reverse the...

Re: Relationship between FH and "Find my Past"

No, FH never automatically adds data to any tree, as that is the cause of so many false data entries in other products.
All data must be added to FH manually, after thorough research confirms it is correct.

Re: Multiple copies of media

In View All Media , just because two entries are next to each, may not mean they are related in any way. The order of such entries can be easily rearranged. However, I assume you know they are related, because they have the same caption Title underneath, which although a strong clue, is no guarantee...

Re: FH imported to Windows 10

When you say FH is unable to open Media files, does FH actually show a large X ? If so, then the Media files are not where FH expected. Were they all stored within the Project 's Media sub-folder or somewhere else? I wonder if you've just opened the Backup ZIP file instead of using File > Backup/Res...

Re: Multiple copies of media

The large X means that the File Path Link in the Media record is NOT pointing to a valid Media file . This may be because you have deleted or moved the Media file in Windows after you linked it into FH . There is a repair tool in FH that may be able to locate any such moved the Media file . How do y...

Re: Query to find Grandmothers

First of all V5.0.9 is not the latest free version and should be updated to V5.0.11 anyway. If Query still does not run, it is due to new shortcuts such as %INDI.~CHIL[2]% introduced with FH V6 . That returns the 2nd Child by any Family partnership. So it could be the same person as %IND.FAMS[1]>CHI...

John, I'm not seeing that behaviour with Firefox, which updates correctly. P.S. These abnormalities seem to crop up from time to time. Currently Firefox won't open some online PDF files (the spinning circle revolves for ever), whereas earlier versions worked and other browsers work OK for the same P...
