Re: GED Exporting Plug-in Issue

The problem is that most genealogy programs are not fully compliant with GEDCOM 5.5 or 5.5.1 . That is why the Plugin has dedicated options for many genealogy programs to cater for each dialect of GEDCOM . I suggest you use export modes (ANC) Ancestry Family Tree and (MYH) MyHeritage Family Tree res...

Re: Death Witness Role - Doctor

The restriction is that you cannot have two {codes} within one <angle bracket> . The first (or maybe the last) {code} determines whether to include the <angle bracket> contents or not, and other {codes} are treated as plain text prefix or suffix. So if one {code} is any of the {individual...} codes ...

Re: Repository and Repositories

Another advantage of a Named List is the order of the Source records determines their order in the Report.

Once they are in the desired order, right-click the list name and invoke Keep Current List Order to fix the order (or use Lists > Keep Current List Order).

Yes, you can put them in a Named List and that will work well. Use Publish > Miscellaneous Reports > Source Summary Report . Then in Select Records open the Named Lists tab and select your Named List of Source records Click >> Add All and OK . With this method you don't even have to visit the Source...

Re: Diagram Option Box - SIZE of the Box and Text

I am sorry but there is nothing you can do in FH to make such dialogues bigger.

Assuming you have Windows 10, you will have to use Start > Settings > Ease of Access options.
Try either Display > Make everything bigger or use the Magnifier.

Re: One person tree - Recording war service with all the bits that go with it!

So presumably your grandfather was in the 4th Infantry Division of the 1st Army. The key question is do you want his wartime story intertwined with the deployment of the 1st Army, or do you want a separate story line dedicated to the 1st Army. If the former, then you need to add Facts to your grandf...

Re: Clone Fact Sets

I have moved this to the FH General Usage Forum that is more appropriate. You need to tick Show Hidden because any replicated facts will be <eclipsed> by any higher ranked Fact Set as listed in the Fact Sets dialogue. If you move the new cloned Fact Set above the original Standard Fact Set, then the...

It would help us if you can please explain in more detail what you want to do with the exported GEDCOM file. Then we can give you the best advice. Is it just for backup? Is for importing into another genealogy program other than FH? Is it for starting a new Project within FH? If for a new Project in...

I'm not quite sure what you are asking. By " added to the normal Plugins " do you mean published in the Plugin Store on the Family Historian website? The Plugin Store is exclusively for Plugins and not Queries that are a very different animal. Likewise, the Tools > Plugins window is dedicated to Plu...

Firstly, using Glenwood Cemetery works fine, i.e. leave out City Alternatively, since you have the full address of 282-298 Memorial Drive, Glenwood, MN, 56334, USA then enclose the "Glenwood City Cemetery" part in string quotes to tell the geocoder to ignore that name. With Glenwood City Cemetery, 2...

Re: Family Historian on a Mac

Welcome to the FHUG . There are a couple of observations to supplement Colin's excellent answer. Although Oracle VirtualBox is free, the Windows licence is not, unless you happen to have an un...
