Re: Grouping of fact types

Ok, I have experimented with the =FactSentence(...) function in a Diagram Text Scheme to create Narrative Reports , but it is unsatisfactory because every sentence repeats the person's Name in full instead of using He/She , and the looping index such as =FactSentence(%INDI.OCCU[1+]%) is NOT supporte...

I have moved this topic to the General Forum because it does not involve Family Historian . Thank you for that advice David but some screenshots in that link are out of date and may confuse users. John , can you please avoid attaching .odt files as some users may not be able to open them. Please use...

Re: Sentence structures

Earlier you requested a sentence where the Fact Witnesses were combined together and separated with commas. The CODE below will do that provided there is at least one son, otherwise, there is an extra comma before the first relative. That could be fixed with =TextIf(...) but only if the Fact Witness...

Re: FH Reports and pagination

Welcome to the FHUG Keckers. It sounds like you have overlooked the Publish > Books feature. That allows you to combine multiple Reports and Diagrams , etc, into one continuously paginated book with an optional overall Table of Contents and an Index . It also allows you to reserve blank pages for an...

Colin, in previous years they have had 4 employees, and I suspect that may not include the Director Simon Orde.
Given a product price of £36, and a guess of a few thousand sales per year, you would not expect tens of employees!

Re: Military Service & Sources

I agree. That last sentence makes it very difficult to advise about potential problems. The very assertion that you have no idea about reports is the potential problem. Before committing all the data to one strategy, experiment with some representative samples to see how they appear in reports & dia...

David, with your recent discoveries, you know how to list all Residence facts linked to a Census Source.
In the Result Set just select them all and hit the Delete key, and POOF they are gone.

I havn't received another Bulletin since Nov 2019 and the one before that was 18 months earlier in May 2018 !

Re: Grouping of fact types

Have you experimented with the Report > Options > Contents tab Main Section Items (in order) ? There are two a...

Re: Deleting Media

Yes, I see what you mean, and that is a little eccentric. The most common method of changing focus is by the tab key, and that cycles round Delete , Unlink , Cancel . It looks like the focus precedence is 1. Delete , 2. Unlink , 3. Cancel but Unlink gets the initial focus. With that in mind, the oth...

The AS process for adding Census , Baptism & Marriage is much the same for Birth , Death & Burial and there is Help built in to AS explaining the tabs and fields for all six processes. You don't need to delete anything from the FH Sample Project to experiment with adding Sources . It might actually ...

Yes, as I mentioned in the group.io discussion, " ... had the following children " is fixed text. It is produced by the FAMS tag ' fact ' that the spouse Family record has one or more Children . Similarly, the " son of <father> and <mother> " fixed text is produced by the FAMC tag ' fact ' that the ...

Your military fact solution sounds fine for you.

As I suggested the Knowledge Base > Census Date Check tool will correct the dates, and the Search and Replace Plugin will also alter Dates.

It is all those fixed text cases that prevent a compl...
