Re: Relationship expression

Have you tried

Code: Select all

=Relationship(Record(9999,'I'),%INDI%,TEXT,1)
Where 9999 is your record ID?

Re: array inside an array

CHIL does not exist as an object in it's own right it is a sub field of famObj so you need to access the # count as such.

Re: Perhaps an Event with 2 date fields (plotting immigration)

In a query you can use =Year(%INDI.CENS.DATE:XDATE1%) and =Year(%INDI.CENS.DATE:XDATE2%) To get the years from the first and second date in a range. P.S The problem with excel is the fact it uses timestamps when computing dates and if you check the Microsoft Documents it specifically states the earl...

Re: Creation of Greek language pack

For best results you might need to use a combination of the two. If you don't use a Translation plugin as well you will end up with some stock phrases. Don't forget to work through the plugin code as well as the simple tables, that is where the "best" conversions happen. If you have feedback on thin...

Re: Is there a way to add a confirmation record using AS?

If you have more complex items to add for example a newpaper report where there are many facts to add to many people take a look at using "Auto Source Citation"

Re: Activation required unexpectedly

Sometimes Windows updates seem to trigger a reconfirmation of activation.

The majority of confirmations simply need logging in again. If logging in does not fix the problem the best course is to raise a ticket with Calico.

Re: Country Summary Help

The result set column needs a simple flat table for each column. Personally I tend to require fhUtils and using the included createResultSet function. That way you can simply loop through your result table and push it over into an output set. The instructions for use are here: http://pluginstore.fam...

If you want to create "power keys" to jump to the right place and are using Windows 10 or 11, you could look at setting up some in Power Automate which is now free from Microsoft.

Re: Descendants Tab

Have you experimented with using the Left Right Descendants diagram instead, it offers a lot more customisation and you can control the number of generations to show on opening and easily change the information shown.

Quite a few of the plugins which are not updated are mine. If someone wants a specific one they can use the author contact or leave a message. At the moment I am having a very busy time with work as has been the case since my colleague died on his 54th birthday. Please remember all the people on FHU...

Just to clarify, none of the people who have been helping you work for Calico Pie. They are "just" users like yourself.
This site is separate to Calico Pie and not run or funded by them.

Re: Surname prefix (SPFX)

As Mike said you can add any fields you need on the All tab by right clicking on the name. If FH does not import them, but you could probably write a plugin to recreate them. You could then customise the columns on the record window and the property box to include the fields. 2022-06-16_115457.jpg

Re: Places in a FH Project Gedcom file

Place records and facts are completely different things. When you use the Data Reference Tab on the Fact query what you will see are 1. PLAC> Which is a Place record. 2. The Long Lat value for the place record. 3. Map which is the local to fact information. As can easily be seen from the Data Refere...

Re: Places in a FH Project Gedcom file

Rather than use an external program, why not simply use a Fact query with columns for the fields you want to remove highlight the columns and press the delete key.

Re: Places in a FH Project Gedcom file

Family historian stores long and lat against the place records the ones against facts are probably left over from an import, so are ignored by FH for mapping

I use GED explorer as it works well with FH data, including media.

Make sure you have FH set to save in UTF8 and you can simply copy the Project folder over.

Are you actually talking about icons on diagrams based on flags not showing? Did you follow all the instructions here Family Historian Co...

Yes, it looks like the batch process glitched and it was restarted by the Web server. Re: Issues when directly Importing RM 8 File with Places

I suspect it's something different in the DB for RM8, if you have not done so it would be worth sending Calico a small sample file which causes the problem, because some of your places have come across suggesting there is some subtle difference in the places which have not come across.

Re: Fact icons inside Diagram boxes

Another option: You can't use an icon, but you could use a font, such as Wingdings or similar. Then wrap a font change command around the character you want to use, remembering to condition it on the existence of the field you need by using a text if expression. Then another font change to go back t...

The attached query will list all people with more that one name.

You can select the Name 2 column fields you want to delete and press the delete key to remove them, be careful if you have any people with a 2nd or subsequent name you want to retain.
