Re: Obvious problem not staring me in the face

I would expect to find the "#RN" on a note field.

Are you expecting the Source on the Note or or on the Parent of the note?

Also are you wanting the link to the Source or the Source record ">"? You will need to go to the record to get the REPO

Ron when posting code it would be helpful if you use the code tags, just select the code sections and press the </> to add the tags. It may make your posts easier to follow.

As Helen says my suggestion does not need any plugin code. Calibre can convert between most formats and comes at my favourite price . . . free.

If you don't mind having the reports in HTML format you could use the CD/Web tool to create all the reports.

I have no intention of matching all the themes, they are different designs, personally I would prefer to have only one style, but as so many people seem to want choice I have provided it.

Re: Australian death certificate -1935

That is a cause of death certificate which would have been passed to the registrar to show cause of death. I would expect that the death would also have been registered so you could check out https://familyhistory.bdm.nsw.gov.au/lifelink/familyhistory/search to find the registration. You might also ...

Re: Linux and saving big nice PNG diagrams workflow

Another thing to check is that you have set the PDF writer to embed the fonts you have used otherwise the proportions could be out. It's also worth setting the Printer to the Family historian PDF printer before you save the diagram.

Re: Everyone v All Relatives chart

They do get quite big, the one I made for Dad's cousins was 18 feet by 6 feet and we had to roll it out on the patio of the hotel. My Grandmother was one of 14 children all of whom lived to adulthood.

One anomaly I noticed is that the style of [kb] links is different from all others (including [topic] links). They always have an extra black underline. Done Another problem is the * is missing from left-hand edge of topic subjects that allows [topic] links to be created. Done One annoyance that ot...

Re: FHUG on the move

Due to the problems with the Marina theme on some Android devices, which strangely only occurs on my adjusted version so it's something odd, I have added a new theme which I am considering changing over to as the default.

If you want to try it you can change over in your Profile to Metrolite

Re: Everyone v All Relatives chart

When doing charts for reunions etc, I tend to print them centred on the shared relation for the get together. So for my Dad's maternal cousins I centred the diagram on the shared Grandparents. To keep the diagram compacts I used short text scheme with just the name, reference number, life dates and ...

Re: Batch updates to Date of Death?

I have a gedcom ready for importing into TNG, and will certainly try it out, to see how it looks, but I'm not sure it will quite achieve what I want - basically for 'Family' members I know personally to be able to see living data, but to hide this information from 'Guests' who I have maybe come int...

Re: Merging Facts & Other Questions

With out more details of the application you came from it's difficult to be sure why both have been created. It's possible your GEDCOM contained both sorts.

If you have a licence for Family Historian you can use the Change Any Fact Tag Plugin to convert to your preferred option.

Yes of course, these are fundamentally sources and you should be entering them as such. Once you are confident with how you want to record the information, you could consider using...

Don't worry, it's easy to get blinkered especially when faced with something odd.

I spent ages trying to find someone in India the other day, and got the person I was researching to check with his father and it turns out she was probably born in Armenia!
