Re: Font Resizing in Trial Version

Remember there are MANY places in preferences which change the fonts for different areas of the program.

Exactly which area of the program are you trying to change?

Re: Diagram only showing one surname but with spouses and children

Another possible option would be to used a query selecting all people whose surname is not blogs, use that to mark and select all the "non" blogs boxes (diagram>Selection and Marks>Set Clear Marks using Query) and then select Diagram>hide<Hide Selected Boxes.

As long as the new place supports UTF-8 and you use the correct export routine you should be fine.

Yes it needs the commas.

Code: Select all

(Jane's plugin won't find these but Edit > Find will)

I have not been able to reproduce this. If I add two notes to a fact it finds the second one OK. Can you give me an example which does not work please.

Re: Multiple Private Notes in a query

I suspect what "steveflanuk" has is a single long note with multiple private notes with in it. eg [[#RN this is private research]] This is public [[#RN This is more private stuff]] As my plugin only identifies notes with #RN in them and does not attempt to split out the separate private no...

I would also go for the single tree. Over the years I have become the "Family Genealogist" so my Project contains branches not only of my Family but my husbands family and my sisters husbands family. I wrote an article about the options a while ago and it can be found here https://www.taub...

Re: Anticipating union problems in FH 6.2

If you really wanted to you could use Family Historian to draw a completely "manual" tree as any text box added can be attached to a record. Greek Myth family trees are messy as they really don't represent what happens in real life which is what most Family Tree programs are designed to ha...

Re: New Multifact plugin

Can I suggest a really simple option. If you reduce the default font to 8 rather than 10 the dialog drops to 850, which hopefully will fit on most screens. So you could check SCREENSIZE and reduce the font size at start up.

I suspect Helen needs the size in pixels. Assuming Windows 10 right click on the desktop and select Display Settings, scroll down to Resolution and make a note of the numbers there plus the Scale option above.

What exactly does the error say?

Do you have patterns turned on? If so you will need to escape the square brackets with a percent sign.

Re: import same-sex partner from TMG to FH

But what happened then was that FH saw a residence tag with 2 unmarried people as principals, and didn't like that. It is worth remembering that being in a Family As Spouse, does not imply marriage in Family Historian only that they have some sort of relationship. You can set the couple to Unmarrie...

From the Family Historian Help How to Record Same Sex Relationships Same sex spouses and partners can be added in the same way tha...

Re: Sources After GEDCOM download to FH from Legacy

One of the advantages with Family Historian is the ability to write a plugin to sort out data on import. So a simple plugin and copy or move the short title to the title and move the medi field to the _type field. There are a few in the downloads which already do some of this. So if you have a full ...

If you want to put something in the Date field you could put "date unknown" that way the standard sentence would not be too bad.

Did you read all the information here Bit Defender (15705) and the associated thread mentioned?

Make sure you have excluded the program from scanning and added it to the internet white list.

Re: Sources After GEDCOM download to FH from Legacy

The first thing to check is the contents of your exported Gedcom file to see if the Type field was exported at all, you can open the file in a Text editor to search for one of the Type values, it may be the data is there. You can do the same for your missing source, check if you can find the title i...
