| Startup Folder | If you have a folder that you frequently use to store GEDCOM files, it may be convenient to specify this folder here; so that when you select the Open command from the File menu, it will default to this folder. |
| Register as default application for GEDCOM files | If checked, Family Historian will automatically re-register itself, whenever it starts up, as the default application to use when opening GEDCOM files. Being the default application means that if you double-click on a GEDCOM file, Family Historian will be opened to load it. You are recommended to leave this option checked, unless you have some specific reason to do otherwise. |
