URL Hyperlinks

This option affects the user URL in Notes and other text fields, listed on the Individual and Family featured pages.

It does NOT affect the hyperlinks create by Family Historian to navigate around these featured pages.

Select the Method to open URL Hyperlink target pages from the dropdown list.

The default Family Historian method is to Open in the same Page frame as the current web page.

The alternative is to Open in a new Tab or Window although this is officially deprecated on the Internet.

Use the Make every Uniform Resource Locator (URL) … an active Hyperlink button to perform the changes.

Currently only user http:// and https:// and ftp:// and mailto: protocol scheme URL are converted to hyperlinks.

http:// are included as Family Historian misses any enclosed in "quotes" or <chevrons> despite this being a recommended format.

However, even user http:// hyperlinks created by Family Historian will have their method of opening changed.

In addition, if a user URL in any text field is embedded in an HTML Anchor Tag then it will be appropriately converted.
e.g.
<a href="http://www.domain.com">Domain</a> appears as Domain but links to http://www.domain.com
<a href="mailto:fred@domain.com">Mail Fred</a> appears as Mail Fred but opens an E-mail client with To address fred@domain.com
