Although this version of Gedcom Census makes it very easy to add census images to each source as you create it, it is likely that you will already have recorded census sources without linking them to images. The Attach Images to Existing Sources screen allows you to select images to link to census sources that you have already created with the option to rename the files to match the name of the source. Please note that this can only be used to attach images to sources. It can not be used to attach images to citations and is therefore not available if use you recording method 2.

When you select the menu option from the Tools menu on the main screen, the Attach Images to Existing Sources screen will appear.

The list-box displays the current sources in your Family Historian GEDCOM file. By default this list will only show sources that do not currently have an image (or other multi-media object) attached. You can include all sources by unticking the Only show sources with no images attached checkbox.

The list can be further filtered by using on of the three options available under the list:

• Show All: This will filter the list to show all sources
• Show census sources: This is the option selected by default and will filter the list to only show sources with the word 'census' in the title.
• Show sources that contain text: If you select this option and type a word into the text box below the list will be filtered to only include sources with titles including the word.

Select from the list the title of the source you want to attach an image to.

Some details of the source are shown on the right-hand side of the screen. This includes the source ID, title, date, list of images already attached to the source and the individuals linked to the source.

If you press the Attach Images to this Source button the Census Images Screen will appear and you can use this to attach images to the source.
