Re: Export Gedcom File for Tribal Pages
Sorry about that, try the attached Export Gedcom File Plugin Version 3.1.4 Date 25 Jan 2017. [Now Deleted]
It is a compressed ZIP that will need right-click Extract All to obtain Plugin file that when double-clicked will install into FH.
Often when adding new features to a multi-purpose Plugin some 'sticky' settings cause problems, but should be OK now.
This version adds a few more minor improvements for lesser used data structures, but it is the main data that matters.
Tribal Pages has so many constraints that there may be several adaptations needed and some loss of data tolerated.

Re: Export Gedcom File for Tribal Pages
Thanks Mike, that works better than FTM, which only exported preferred facts.
Sadly, my Custom_ID / REFN is still not being shown, which is a problem with TP rather than your plugin.
Would it be possible to export REFN as new Note if there isn't one, or prefix an existing note with Ref: REFN<CR><CR>
TP shows notes to the right hand side, so are clearly visible, and if REFN is placed at the top it would be ideal The two <CR><CR> are to space it out a bit, otherwise it doesn't stand out!!
I have modified the Note of Robert William Loney in my TP Tree, to show what I mean.

Re: Export Gedcom File for Tribal Pages
It should have put the Custom Id (REFN) into the record Note but I got the setting wrong.
Will do better next time, but currently such data is always added to the end of the Note.
Tribal Pages really should do better, because every other product does support Custom Id.
A lot of custom events get created for multiple instances and unsupported facts.
Are 24 (the DeLuxe allowance) enough for your purposes?
Do you know whether Media images/photos can be bulk uploaded with Media links in the Gedcom?

Mike,
Sorry, but I don't use Media in TP, (or in FH at present) so can't answer your question.
As for REFN, you say currently such data is always added to end of note, does that mean it can't be added to the front?
I really would prefer it at top of the note, so it can easily be seen, not tucked away as an afterthought. If it comes to it, I could always add it there myself I suppose

Re: Export Gedcom File for Tribal Pages
The thing is, there are a great many data items that various products do not support.
When the option is to add them to a Note, the Plugin always adds them to the end.
The assumption being that the existing content is more important than the usually minor data items.
It is actually trickier than it sounds to add to the beginning of the Note.
As I said, TP is the only product not to support REFN, so I'm not keen on making it a special case.
It is so rare that I have overlooked the technique used by the Plugin for other reference numbers.
That is to create a custom event, but TP only supports a limited number.
However, would that be a better option?
I presume it is only important for Individual records?
Did you get any response from TP support about supporting REFN?

Mike,
Get a response from TP? You must be joking, they are taking forever! I complained about 10-15 days ago, about not being able to load large gedcoms, and apart from one 'brief' e-mail saying they are looking at it, nothing. Even the small gedcoms I CAN load, are erased after 2 or 3 days. I shan't be renewing my subscription, it has got so bad.
Makes me wonder if it worth your effort in producing a gedcom export facility for them.

Re: Export Gedcom File for Tribal Pages
Among my early replies in this thread I said TP supports so little that I initially gave up trying to produce a usable export.
However, what the Plugin now offers is better than nothing, and maybe others will find it useful.

Very true.
Even I would still use it, if only I could load a large gedcom

Re: Export Gedcom File for Tribal Pages
The Export Gedcom File Plugin Version 3.2 Date 11 Feb 2017 is now in the Plugin Store with good support for export mode (TPT) TribalPages Tree especially if you have a subscription account.
See plugins:help:export_gedcom_file:tpt_tribalpages_tree|> Export Gedcom File ~ (TPT) TribalPages Tree for details.
The Zip Attachments here will soon be deleted.
