You need to manually set the Count of Children to 0 rather than just adding no children. The idea, is you are sure there are no children rather than you have just not found them yet.

OK, so I've added the "child count" attribute (NB not "count of children" as in Jane's picture - is this something different?) and set it to 0 (zero), but no line appearing on the descendants or all relatives diagram, and yes I have redrawn the diagram.
I can use the diagram options, box features, to change the line around the individuals box depending on the condition %INDI.NCHI% and that shows the expression is working ok, but I'd prefer the underline as shown in Jane's diagram. The boxes in the diagram both have picture in them - is this the problem?
I was only wondering today how I could show there were no children - now I know! Thanks.
It only seems to work for couples though. I thought it might be useful to show against those people who I know didn't marry and didn't have children - it would save keep looking at people I have already investigated for a spouse.
Works for me on single people, just tried it. Just make sure the child count attribute is added for that person and set to 0 (zero).
Edit - and if woman has two husbands, if you set the child count to 0 for one husband, and she has a child with the second husband, only the first husband is underlined.
This is an excellent feature so I have followed the instructions (I think) from the previous posters and have successfully got the no offspring marker showing against married couples but am unable to get it to show against single people.
All you need to do is go into 'options'button next to the ticked 'no-offspring marker' and put a tick in 'also put marker below individuals with not spouses and no children'.
