V4.1.3 Released

We released version 4.1 on May 27th. The full version number of that version - to three digits - was 4.1.2. We have now brought out another release, which is 4.1.3. The new version fixes a problem which arose when Family Historian was used to load a GEDCOM file that contained certain errors. This problem has been discussed in this list in the threads "FH 4.1 crashes opening FTM gedcom" and "FH 4.1 still crashing when opening FTM gedcom".

So far, all examples of the problem that we have investigated arose when a GEDCOM file was created by Family Tree Maker; but the problem could in principle arise with GEDCOM files created by other programs too. The symptom was that Family Historian ... More

V4.1 Officially Released

Version 4.1 has now been officially released. Version 4 users can download a free upgrade from

http://www.family-historian.co.uk/downloads/latest-free-upgrade

Anyone who previously installed release candidate 4.1.2 does not need to upgrade again, as nothing has changed since that release candidate - it's the same file ('4.1' is the shortened version number - the full version number is '4.1.2'). If you're not sure if you have the latest version or not, click on "Check for Updates" on the Help menu; or check your version on "About Family Historian" - also on the Help menu.
